Clear Skin Foundations (Free Guide)

The exact first steps I use with clients to support acne-prone skin

Calm your skin.

Quiet the food noise.

Registered Nutritionist helping professional women whose adult acne is tangled up with food rules calm problem skin, settle their gut and balance their hormones with realistic, evidence based nutrition, not fads or more restriction.

Skin, Gut & Hormone Health for Women

I work with women whose skin, gut and hormone symptoms are chipping away at their confidence, with adult acne often front and centre, using realistic changes that fit around real life, not a perfect week on paper.

Does this sound like you?

  • Your acne flares before your period, and you are sick of covering it with makeup, filters and carefully chosen lighting.

  • You catch yourself mirror-checking, editing photos or avoiding cameras and Zoom calls on bad skin days.

  • You have quietly built up a list of “fear foods” or rules because you are scared certain foods will make your acne worse.

  • Your bloating, pain or bathroom habits make you plan life around your gut.

  • You are juggling work, home and hormones and feel exhausted before you have even opened your emails.

If you recognise yourself in even one of these, you’re not failing. Your body is asking for a different kind of support.

The effects of acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea can be devastating to your well being, and it is incredibly frustrating when treatments only work while you are using them and your skin rebels the moment you stop. Adult acne in particular can chip away at confidence at work, in photos and on Zoom, far more than people realise.

Digestive issues can leave you bloated, uncomfortable and even embarrassed, from the clothes you feel you can wear to the outings you feel safe saying yes to, always needing a toilet close by.

And when you feel you have to control every mouthful just to keep your skin or weight in check, it can be completely soul destroying. I have tried many diets over the years myself, so I know how tough it is when nothing seems to work and every “slip” feels like it will show up on your face.

I also spent most of my twenties with painful hormonal acne, so I know how draining it is when your skin, gut or hormones feel out of control, and you are doing your best but nothing seems to shift. I am trained in disordered eating and body image work, so we will always look after your relationship with food alongside your skin and hormone health, not sacrifice one for the other.

Sorting out your digestion and gut microbiome, supporting your hormones and giving your body the right nutrition for stress and detoxification can make a huge difference to all of these symptoms. But we are all biochemically unique. There is no one-size-fits-all plan, which is why generic diets and blanket advice fall short. None of this is about putting you on yet another strict plan. It is about understanding your body and working with it, not against it.

That is where I come in: helping you understand what your body needs, and creating a plan that works for you as an individual. I hold a postgraduate degree in Personalised Nutrition and additional training in nutrigenomics. In my clinic, I support women to feel their best with nutrition programmes designed for long term results. Practical, achievable and built around your real life, not a perfect week on paper.

Practical. Achievable. Designed just for you.

My Approach

I like to keep things simple. Simple, for me, means food you can buy in Sainsbury’s, tweaks that work on a busy Tuesday, and room for real life (and yes, real cake). Simple also means less food anxiety and fewer rules, so you can stop thinking about what you ‘should’ eat all day and get back to living your life.

I specialise in adult acne and that messy overlap between skin, food rules and self worth, using an eating disorder informed, anti diet approach.

So when we work together, we will go through my 3 step Eat · Restore · Relax framework to uncover what is really going on and support your body in a way that actually fits your life. We will always prioritise approaches that work in your real week, not just in a perfect one, with room for joy, socialising and the foods you love.
